A word from our Founder – Vincent
A criminal record doesn’t erase work ethic. It erases opportunity. As we head into 2026, the following is a conversation we’d like QLD employers and communities to be a part of. When I left prison in 2023, I genuinely thought I’d be okay. I had previously run a business. I had a solid work history. I wasn’t walking out with nothing to offer. I honestly believed that if I showed up, explained myself, and worked hard, someone would give me a crack. My wife used her long service and took a couple of months off when I came home. There was no pressure for me to work, or to do anything really. But I was struggling. You count down the years, months, days to when you walk out those gates – only to feel completely lost as soon as you take your first step. Anyway, looonnng story short – after she returned to work, I felt like a bit of a burden at…

The Reality of Reintegration
High Recidivism Rates
In Queensland, nearly half of released prisoners return to prison within two years, highlighting the urgent need for effective reintegration support.
Employment Challenges
65% of ex-prisoners identify employment as a critical factor in preventing reoffending, yet many face significant barriers to securing jobs.
Stable employment is consistently linked to lower rates of reoffending.
Please note: We do not provide support to individuals convicted of rape, sexual assault, or crimes against children, as these fall outside the scope of our services.

For Employers: The Workforce Solution
Their Second Chance….
We’re a team who have walked this path ourselves, so we understand the potential that exists inside prison walls.
Insideout Pathways connects that potential with employers willing to recognise it — helping businesses find reliable workers while giving people leaving prison a genuine opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Employers – Be part of the Solution.

Some Success Stories

11 January 2026 – Mick’s Story
This is what six months of doing the work actually looks like…. I wrote a post about Mick a few months ago. At the time, he’d pretty much only just walked out of prison – carrying a bag of belongings, a heap of uncertainty, and a determination to do things differently. I caught up with him today, he’s now 6 months out (after cycling in and out of the system for over 10 years) and while life hasn’t suddenly become easy, his growth as a person is impossible to miss. It would be a lot easier for Mick to fall back into old habits. Familiar habits. Survival habits. Instead, he’s choosing to stay on a path that asks more of him, even when it’s uncomfortable. When he first got out, just like most people walking out of jail, there was no smooth transition. He got out to homelessness and had no clear plan. He managed to secure a job, which…
